I love how they always make sure to tell you that unpaid volunteers worked to build it. As if the WTS was planning to pay a crew to build it until the locals insisted on doing it for free. And now that they chipped in and built it, they need to start donating so that they can pay for the materials, too.

I'll put money on the Watchtower obtained some kind of tax break or even grant for building somewhere the talks will be given in the local native language or that the Cong is mostly comprised of first Nations people. It's probably why the thing got built at all. I know from the Crow lady poster on this forum that Watchtower obtains grants for publishing and teaching in first Nations languages. Those with a small demographic are therefore vulnerable to cult teaching (and not being able to view detractors work in their own language, of course).
