Jehovah's Witnesses aren't the only group whose forecasts, predictions, scare-stories, and data jumbling go awry.

    Take a look:
    https://cei.org/blog/wrong-again-50-years-failed-eco-pocalyptic-predictions

What's interesting in the above article is that it is eerily familiar to JW's
who debunk false teachings. The reprinted news-clippings have strong impact
and lend gravitas to the argument.
    What argument?
There's a huge difference between Science and bullshit because Science
is supposed to TEST its hypotheses.
Well - FAILURE is a pretty good test.

      Are these honest errors?
Or just a conspiracy to sell news stories with dire emotional impact?

Whichever way you decide -- frightening large populations with doom works like a charm.

Yup fear mongering hype works like a charm toward exploiting human awareness and as for the WTS helps in the proliferation of literature .

Exploiting human ignorance along with emotive insecurities is not that difficult of a task.

The Watchtower Corporation has been doing that for over 140 years.

"And remember by 1914 the whole of the earth will be restored to paradise under Gods heavenly kingdom, with Christ ruling on his father's throne." Bullshit! How they drag this out with so many subsequent failures and still the idiots believe ....It's astonishing!

Incomplete science combined with speculation has been known to stir up human emotions of fear.

This can be used to sell or cultivate money even in the realm of scientific endeavors .

Bullshit! How they drag this out with so many subsequent failures and still the idiots believe.

Because human ignorance is a valuable and exploitative commodity, particularly in the religoius mindset

What makes it worse is that a failed prediction can cost you salvation. Bad enough when they keep pushing dates for such as famines and hyperinflation, and people prepare for them. At least they are not messing with people's salvation hopes. But, when you start pushing predictions and people had better abide by (and teach) the bad predictions under threat of everlasting death or torment, they had better get it right or they are doing far worse.

After all, when is the last time someone has been cut off from their whole lives because they didn't buy that roll of silver quarters that someone suggested they buy to prepare for hyperinflation?
