For those that were in the borg for thirty years or more how is your health. I was wondering if all ex's are having more health problems than the " so called worldly" who over indulged in smoking and drinking and carousing.? I was a light drinker and never smoked , but now I have hypertension and had a heart attack and having to take meds everyday.

my health is not so good, I have hypertension and some heart thickenign. I have to take meds everyday. I also have depression, and a host of other stress related illness, along with a serious bad back i inherited form my dad. I can say one thing for sure, the jws surely increased the stress in my life and destroyed my self esteem. It has taken years of therapy to regain it. So many of them are ill, mainly stress related illness. So i never smoked, but i did drink. And look how many of them are obese. I know being overweight is not always a persons fault, i could live on lettuce and maintain my weight, but soooo many are obese.Stess is killing a lot of jws.

    Hiya!

I also suffer from depression, and take meds for it. (about 8 years now). Other than that, I'm fine! The only good thing about the borg for me was quitting smoking! I will never do that again.

    I have hypertension

Hypertension keeps showing up among dubs and ex dubs, not to mention mental illness, which seems to be rampant amont the faithful. I'm sure the wts will continue to ignore these problems unless addressing them will increase magazine sales. Bug

JWs have more spousal abuse of all kinds, more child abuse including child sexual molestation, more alcoholism, more depression, more suicide, more, more, more of everything.

But think of it this way. Every day you stay away from the JWs, that's another day in which you've improved yourself. So keep it up.

What are you folks taking for depression? Because I'm on a maintenance dose of narcotics for chronic pain, I also have to take depression meds. I take 300 mg Effexor XR. It really works very, very well for me.

Hang in there folks. You were members of and surrounded by a very sick sub-group of the underbelly of societal illness. You've had their sickness force-fed into your very pores. Now you're getting better. Hang with the program, you'll be fine.
