Ever have ONE of those days?

Saw it happen in slo-motion. Fumble - No recovery by the home team. Took it apart right away and dried it thoroughly. This morning I put it back together and it worked, thank god. The only problem is that the LCD display is missing some "legs" on the numbers. Lucky for me, the only group of people that page me on it use the same number and are the ONLY ones that page me on this particular pager. If anyone else pages me, forget it. I won't be returning their call anytime soon.

**I just had to take the picture of it in case my boss didn't believe me** Kinda like saying my dog ate my paperwork...

Jourles, what's all that discoloration in the bowl and around the seat? Is there any connection between the pager and what goes into the bowl? Don't take my ??'s seriously.

That picture could have been a lot nastier....I think.

I occasionally lend my pager, but more often my cell phone to my kids, so I can contact them if need be.

2 years ago while camping, ( yes jourles....roughing it ) my youngest daughter was on the dock, and a boy pushed her into the lake. She got out right away, but remembered, she had my cell phone in her pocket.

So as I have drilled into all my kids, if you have an electronic device, and it gets wet, "get the batteries the hell out of it".

She came out of the lake, pulled the phone from her pocket, removed the battery, and walked back to our campsite, and told me the teary story.......she was literally crying her eyes out, because she thought she had ruined the phone.

I took the phone, opened it up, dried the circuits board off, let it sit for a few days, to make sure all the moisture was gone, and LO and BEHOLD, I put it back together, and it works fine to this day, 2 years later.

Moral of the Story if you have an electronic device, and it gets wet, "get the batteries the hell out of it".

Several years ago when I had my first 35 mm camera I was setting up on a fishing dock of a small lake to photograph some Canada Geese out on the lake. I had the camera up on a tripod and turned around to get something out of my camera bag. When I turned back around all I could see were the three legs of the tripod sticking up out of the water. I immediately opened the camera, took out the film and removed the batteries. Thinking this was a lost cause I told my wife the camera was ruined and bought a new (and better) one. Guess what, I stuck some batteries in the thing some 6 or 8 months later and it worked fine !!!!!! bug
