Many Americans think their country went to war in Iraq to free the Iraqi people from tyranny.
If Africans, Asians, or South Americans, faced a similar kind of "tyranny" (and some do) would the present American Administration be there to "free" them also?
I don't think so.

For every "Let's all get together and really have a nasty American Hate-In" reason you can come up with, I can come up with three why it's a bad idea.
Why don't we just give it a rest, huh?

I just saw a sad report on public television about what is happening in the Congo and felt moved to ask this question. I feel that too many Americans buy into the popular line dispensed by whoever is talking the loudest, instead of seeing the whole picture of things.
I also do not think that the question of whether our government is doing the right thing can ever be asked too many times or driven into the ground. If so, then democracy is dead!

well we all know what god's org is doing in these countries. feeding the poor. no helping the sick. no taking care of the eldery. no taking care of parent less children no. but the wt is still selling the wt mag's at a price $$$$ in many of these countries. i think that the u.s gov't and other agencies are doing far more than , god's org, even you can send food from local food drives for these downtrodden ppl. the wt send them paper to eat . i like my wt chopped and boiled with salt . for $.25 cents you can feed a whole family please send the proper food at the proper time....john

Sometimes devotion to a government can be just as mind numbing and thought controling as devotion to a religion can be.
For some people their government becomes their religion. Not a good idea.

good point iw; but the u.s gov't don't tell you , you can't help hungry ppl in other lands or your local bum . by buying him something to eat. yes the u.s is selective on were they go to help more than other places. but the price of gasoline has gone down and that helps me ,so that was in my intrests. i think the the u.s gov't has done more for foreign lands in a month than the wt has done in 130 years. that's my point john

If the U.S Government did involve itself militarily in other places, such as the Congo or Zimbabwe, would you support such actions?
