What a man wishes, he generally believes to be true.
My 'take' on this is that it would go part way to explaining the reluctance, the cognitive dissonance, of many loyal members of the R&F who just refuse to believe that something's wrong in the Borg.
Didnt you use this quote the other week? It seems very familiar. Perhaps its just such a significant utterance that it SEEMS Ive seen it before. Anyway.
It beggars explanation why people stay in organizations that cause them endless pain and stress in the pursuit of a future of pleasure and joy. Why the utopian dream should always turn into a present world nightmare is a mystery.
who just refuse to believe that something's wrong in the Borg.
Many believe there is room for mistakes in the borg.....hence do not get too shook up when they hear of error within. Most dubs do not understand how the society can be guided by Jehovah......yet have the problems they have..........they simply accept it and put the question out of their mind.
Others know there is problems within, yet feel that nothing else comes as close to Jehovah's organisation and so they accept it.
Others.....they learn the truth about the ' truth'..... and get out. Why do some stay and others get out?
