Summer conventions - how much does it cost to rent??

  I did a little research, and found out how much it is to rent the stadium in my city for the day. There were different rates for profit, and non profit organizations.

  I will let everyone venture a guess, and then I will come back and give the answer for the city I live in. I would imagine that most venues such as this are likely around the same cost.

  When collecting funds to operate these summer conventions, I wonder what they say it costs, compared to what it really does. Are they losing money, or making it. You tell me.

  The answer I am looking for is strictly for the use of the building. Many places do charge extra if you don't allow them to sell their food or beer. But we won't go into that.

  How much would you guess it costs the society to rent the building??

  Well, keep in mind that it is non-profit. I don't believe without proof that the society makes a profit off of the use, just b/c someone says so... I don't think that they are that low.

  We always go in, clean the place top to bottom... I remember our conregations would each get assigned a section and clean the bejeezus out of it. It was always filthy! They (the management co.) would always love to rent to us, just b/c we would clean up the place!

  How much? I say, $10,000.00 for the whole thing. That's a big stadium, canadian dollars. They suggest about $5.00 per day per person to cover the costs, I think.

  Well, only one guessed. Oh well.

  Anyways, in San Diego, to rent the stadium for a non profit organization, it costs $8,500 a day.

  JW's get free rent for The Long Beach Convention Center (L.A.) for another 9 years. They earned it because how they always keep it clean.
