Who are we to know? I would imagine that whatever happens after we die, we will be ok, and free will will not even be a thought.

i think the real question is:
is there freewill in hell?

Interesting that you'd say this:
free will will not even be a thought.
Our "free will" is always what Bible-believers bring up when it comes to the question: why does God allow wickedness? If free will doesn't concern people in heaven, why are they so bent out of shape about it here on earth?
Is free will in heaven different? It must be otherwise why does everything turn out "ok" once you're up there?

Why should there be? I have never found any free will anywhere.
Always had to pay for it wherever I went.
cheeses - who would love to find some free will.

I think free will abounds in heaven in ways we could not now even conceive.

Still clinging to pie in the sky? I would love to believe that kind of stuff. Unfortunately it is so wonderful on the other side that they completely forget about their old friends and fail to send an unambiguous message back here.

Free will is an ongoing debate with philosophers. Whether there is or isn't we find it pleasureable to be rewarded for our good deeds and we are kept in line by society's assumption that we are responsible for our bad acts as well.
It seems it is one of many recursive concepts that we employ. We have free will as long as we believe we do. What do you know? We actually can choose to believe or not believe that we have free will.

proplog,
good post.
once again philosophy is overrun by science. neurobiology makes it clear that a truly free will does not and cannot exist.
and since there is no soul there is no heaven either.
