Thanks everyone for posting on my thread about asking to be reinstated.

Many of you said about a person who marries a DF'd person getting DF'd themselves, but the most recent article I can find on this is a question from readers in 1955. Can anyone tell me where I can find a more up to date article? And also, anyone who persistantly associates with a DF'd person gets DF'd themselves, but is there any articles to back this up apart from that on I already said about in '55?

Things are starting to get interesting about what happened last week and I need these quotes to take it further. I'll let you all know what happens.

    Cheers

    Gadget,

I'm sorry, I have no articles for you but it is a given that a jw cannot marry a df's jw and remain in good standing. Have you read Crisis of conscience by Franz? He was df'd for having dinner with his landlord who was df'd.

    Hi Gadget

15 min: Loyalty to God When a Family Member is Disfellowshiped. Congregation servant discusses counsel contained on pages 351 and 352 of June 1, 1970, "Watchtower" and "Lamp" book, p. 180. Love for God and our loyalty to true worship should motivate us to respect disfellowshiping decree. If some continue association that is not absolutely necessary with disfellowshiped family member living outside the home, committee should lovingly help them to understand principles involved and to comply with Bible’s counsel. If a disfellowshiped person is not living in the home, 2 John 9-11 shows we should ‘never receive him into our homes or say a greeting to him.’ Persistent disregard of the Bible’s direction to "quit mixing in company" with such a person could lead to disfellowshiping, but that should not be our reason for obedience, should it? If we love Jehovah, we obey his Word.—1 John 5:3.

    ***Pay Attention p. 102***

Basic Scriptural counsel on the proper view of those who have been expelled from the congregation is set out in the apostle Paul's words at 1 Corinthians 5:11- 13.

John counsels against speaking to or associating with a disfellowshipped or disassociated person so as not to be "a sharer in his wicked works." (2 John 11)

Scriptural and historical guidelines on how to view disfellowshipped and disassociated persons are found in The Watchtower, September 15, 1981, pages 20-31.

I don't have access to the Lamp book, or the Organization book.
