The Amarillo Globe News yearly gives Witnesses positive news, yet omits negative coverage. How about requesting they run the article from another local paper, regarding the lawsuit filed against the society? An Amarillo man was previously convicted of sexual abuse of two little girls and now a lawsuit has been filed. Please join me in email the Amarillo Globe News for equal coverage.

Jehovah's Witnesses will convene in Amarillo starting this weekend at the Civic Center Coliseum for their 2003 "Give God Glory" District Convention. Admission is free . . . .

The Jehovah's Witnesses' series of conventions - and they do three (weekends this year) - are still our single largest convention client for the city," said Eric Miller, Convention and Visitor Council director of communications. He said each weekend generates a $1.65 million economic impact, and all three weekends combined is nearly $5 million.

I saw that the Jehovahs Witnesses will be in town this weekend. I invite you to ask them several questions...if you could find any of their leaders that have the guts to answer your questions. First, ask them about child abuse in their own midst...they will say there is no problem, but then again so did the Catholic church. They allow pedophiles to remain in their church and unknown to their own members...this is true and they will not deny the fact that they never tell other members that a pedophile is sitting next to them. Please refer to http://www.silentlambs.org for more info on that subject. As well, go and ask them what they think about the general population of Amarillo. You know what they believe? They think unless you are Jehovahs Witnesses you are all going to die in their apocalypse. Nice folks huh? This spills over into everyday life all the time, from the way they treat people on the street to the way they shun former memebers of their faith...EVEN members of their immediate family for no other reason that the belief that they really are god's chosen and are so righteous that everyone else is involved in false religion and are "worldly". I find it ironic that Amarillo invites them and prospers off people who could care less about any of you. They would call me disgruntled or an Apostate that was just spreading lies about "god's organization', but lemme tell you. I left when I was about 17 because I saw the delusion and I couldn't live in constant fear of a vengefull god or the looming guilt that is ever present in their lives. I hope that some day more people will realize they are less mainstream christians and more of a cult than people see from articles that don't tell the story that lies beneath.....Take care and don't answer your door this weekend.

    P.S.

Don't forget to reprint this article in your newspaper...if you are going to give them good press try and be balanced and give them hell over this case of alleged child abuse and their lack of attention to an abused innocent that suffered because of their bad policy in your own area!
