30 years ago David Koresh and his WACO Adventist cult experienced their "Armageddon". Great documentary on Net Flix.

A fascinating look into the human mind, cults, religion, child abuse, and mental illness colliding with government bureaucracy.

3rd Gen and I watched this tonight. Impossible not to see some similarities between Watchtower teachings, fear-mongering, and its "compounds".

IMO, one of the biggest mistakes the Feds made during that whole thing was their failure to grasp that the Branch Davidians actually fully subscribed to their beliefs, and as a result, the government’s actions simply reinforced the Davidians’ convictions, and made them dig in even deeper.

The symbolism of Donald Trump hosting a rally at Waco , an event in which a child molester burned a bunch of kids alive and inspired the Oklahoma city bombing is truly disgusting.

But But But government over reach, gun laws.........................fuck that.

Or maybe I am just a little jaded from my JW upbringing and all these child abuse stuff but the guy should hang.

Actually the Borg and it's policies have had more far - reaching,, deadlier and damaging policies over a much llonger period of time than the Branch Davidians. When you add - up the blood doctrine, shunning and two witness rule the damage has been more damaging and devastating.

    What Vidiot said.

I was about five years out of the Watchtower when this happened. I remember hearing the first brief report on new radio and thinking "this will not end well." The US government gave Koresh an amplifier and he made good use of it. Unfortunately the circus ended with a bunch of dead kids.

The bunker mentality and fear of outside "Worldly People" were palpable at Brooklyn headquarters when I was there. I had to keep a straight face and not roll my eyes when I asked Knorr's assistant, Dave Mercante about them. The number of tunnels, unmarked subterranean locked rooms, emergency generators, and multi-month food storage would make any Mormon or Koresh follower proud.

    That’s funny.

Being terrified of folks that don’t actually give a shit about you.
