Worldlings are Great

I must be blending into 'the world'. At times i find myself actually enjoying having dealings w people. The difference that stands out is their non scrutinising attitude. If i don't agree, don't go along, do something dumb, or 'fall short' in many ways, they don't look at me as if to say, 'you should have done better'. They don't care much, it seems, how i live my life, what i drive, what kind of shoes i were, if i'm shacked up or not. They just treat me like they did before.

This allows me to relax more, just be me, instead of always 'striving' to 'do more' or be better, or always waiting expectantly for something spectacular to happen. After 7 yrs, the wt training continues to fall away

Do you notice your wt programming weakening, or disappearing?

    Excellent SS!

When I first left the WT I was highly suspicious of people with those cool attitudes. I thought they were pretending to be nice. Idiot arnt I. I soon got used to it though. Cool post.

Oh yeah, my WT programming has dissapeared, took time was worth it.

Thanks. Another thing is time. It doesn't have urgency anymore. It doesn't belong to an org or a god. It belongs to me. I can share it w others, but it's my decision. I can spend it any way i want. Hopefully, by the end of my time, i will have a lot of good memories for company.

I am finally after 4 years starting to get more comfortable with "worldly" people...I still tend to stand on the outside looking in, but then I tend to do that at any gathering I go to...maybe it is just me??

I agree ST.S, My non J-dud family and friends do not look at me with the suspicious eye the duds did. I feel more relaxed and therefore more willing to do things with and for them. Conversations flow in all directions, where as with the duds all things lead back to the borg. Maverick

That's one of the things I first saw about non-Witnesses (I HATE the term "worldly"). In many ways if given a chance they show the same forgiving and tolerant attitude that most on this board show. They're just struggling, trying to build a life, and few of them think they're in any position to judge or criticize. For me, nearly all of that JW attitude is gone.

Yesterday, in the mail I got a quote that my buddy had copied from a magazine. I think it's from a review of the latest Matrix movie...

The movie, she says, represents the veil of illusion on life being broken. People tell you the world looks a certain way. Parents tell you how to think. Schools tell you how to think. TV. Religion. And then at a certain point, if you're lucky, you realize you can make up your own mind. Nobody sets the rules but you. You can design your own life."

I coulda fell over. If I had only known...

You can design your own life."

Good quote. We are waking up. Maybe life on the earth is all a game. They (tibetan buddhists) say that after illumination, you can do lots of the same things you did before, if you want, but nothing seems as important as it was before.

Actually, there are many jw terms that i hate, but i use them sometimes to get ideas accross, i suppose.
