I can still feel how uncomfortable it was to stand and not salute the flag in school.
Got to give Kaepenick credit for his courage.

It was embarrassing and awkward at the least. I hated it in high school, and standing out in the hallway each Monday morning when the national anthem was played. One thing I don't understand about all this recent stuff is, isn't taking a knee a sign of respect anyway? What's the brouhaha? Does not a man sometimes propose on bended knee, don't people pray on bended knee, doesn't the Christmas song say "fall on your knees?" I think these athletes are sending a message while at the same time showing respect.
