    Greg Rusedski

    Andy Roddick

The two biggest hitters in the tournament jointly holding the record for the fastest serve at 149 mph! Roddick looked superb to win Queens a couple of weeks ago but Greg has overcome nine months of injury misery to win the Samsung open last week.

This could be the match of championship, make sure you're watching the BBC this afternoon. So what do you think?

    [1] Roddick in straight sets

[2] Rusedski in straight sets [3] Roddick to win in four [4] Rusedski to win in four [5] Can't call - five-set thriller *my vote Nic'

    (6) A total boring game matched only in the excitment ranks by an odd looking seagull that lands directly on the service line.

Tennis is a shite game only played by those born with a silver spoon up their ass.

Good luck with your prediction ; whatever floats your boat man.

You know, I have never heard of this snotty Canuck.

Just read the other thread where our (coughs) Canuck tennis player threw a hissy.

    Shame!

Tennis is one of those sports I find, like golf - that seems to satiate those in the upper echilons of $ociety.

I'll take Roddick in 5 sets. (maybe this game already took place - have not had time to catch up on the stats).

That said, I will grant the naysayers that Tennis and Golf (like most other pro sports) have gone over the edge with endorsements and commercial greed. However, it was not always so.

Rod Laver, one of the all time tennis greats (a personal hero when I was a lad just picking up a racket for the first time) I believe never made more than $10,000 a year. (this figure could be wrong, but suffice to say it's a far cry from what the Williams Sisters get).

Golf before Jack Nicklaus - similar story. Major league baseball contracts in the 50's and 60's - most players barely made enough for to buy an average home for their family.

Whether you like or hate tennis or golf - you have to admit that they are two of the most difficult sports out. Golf especially.

Dismissing two of my favorite pastimes as elitist "tees" me off a bit - too each his own though.

    All best,

    Mak
