Just made a fast check on yearly watchtower report. Bulgaria numbers 2022 was +1. For 2023 they + 4. Uruguay for 2022. - 2 . Now in 2023 they at 0. Numbers fluctuating. Has it something to do with new no counting time rule?
Has there been a change in how society counts publishers?

The numbers shown in the latest totals reflect the period September 2022 to August 2023.
The “no longer report how many hours” change took place in October 2023 so that change is not reflected in the published numbers.
The count of publishers can and does fluctuate for any particular country in any given years for a variety of reasons - pandemics, immigration, emigration, JWs fading or being DF’ed or dying in higher or lower numbers than in other years.

Yeah feels like yearly report last 20 years have been fluctuating for does reason and not because of any significant growth. Maeby they put a end to yearly report soon. There's nothing really "exciting" about it. Just a cooperation still surviving.

The numbers are suspect in my conspiracy-minded opinion. here’s why:
WTC lies - about everything.
Anecdotal observations by MANY JWs and exJWs suggest that meeting attendance and actual time in the ministry is flatter than flat.
Baptisms are almost totally children born in.
Faders and DAers and DFers dominate social media.
Many KHs have been sold and none built yet their count stays almost the same.
Congs have been been dissolved and consolidated even more than KHs being sold, yet the numbers never seem to decrease.
Foreign language groups have been dissolved in the US. That represented a significant decline.
No new KHs are being built - no one has evidence otherwise.
Call me suspicious but the report would suggest that almost all things in JWland are rosy. Unimpeachable sources say that is not the case.
WT is padding the report to avoid the truth that they are in STEEP decline.

117514 more "publishers" in 2023
1.3 % increase in 2023 compared to 0.4% in 2022

Dreary weather Why will it boost the numbers?
Clearly because previously if you had no service time for 6 months plus you would no longer be considered an active publisher🙄With zero time requirements they'll more or less be counting all baptised publishers unless they've been df or DA (or literally refuse to tick the box)
