    Well , I can't say this kinda stuff surprises me . The other night they said there were 25 dead in 24hrs I can't remember if it was british or US troops but it does seem like this kinda stuff will continue .It's looking like the US and britain will be embarrassed into leaving the region at this rate. I thought it was enough embarrassment when they didn't find the WOMD that was repeatedly assured existed .

    Well, it all depends which reality you choose;

    1/ The Coalition will withdraw as hastily as possible as has always been their intention, and this trouble and bloodshed is agrivating as the Iraqi people have been freed from the yoke of an oppressor.

    2/ The Coalition, or at least part of it, had Iraq selected as 'Airstrip Two' for a few years now, as Saudi could go down the crapper any moment and they need a strategic base in the Middle East, and no one is stupid enough to trust Israel. The fact that the Iraqi people are likely to make this far more difficult than anticipated and troops will die on a regular basis (if you're British you'll know all about how troops die in areas where paramillitaries are running around (Northern Ireland) is very frustrating, as they should be grateful to their saviours.

    Of course, there's more than 2 realities, but those are popular ones...

    Let 'em reap what they sowed.....

    And I hope the international community will hold them responsible (whatever that means) for the trouble they have stirred. To leave the area would be a tremendous defeat for the allies, so they have no choice to continue trying to subdue the Iraqis, which will never happen, just look at palestine, Israel can't stop them either.

    I can't say what the intent was for that war but it doesn't seem to be working for them.

    The way I view this whole mess is by flipping the coin and putting myself in their shoes. What if we here in the USA were invaded by another country based on the same reasons that we used to invade Iraq? WoMD. Almost no one will deny that the US does not have any, nor will they deny we do not have any classified unconventional weapons. How would you react to an invasion here in the US? Wouldn't you do everything in your power to stop or impede the invading forces? If you truly thought that the US government was the only "good and noble" one on earth, wouldn't you freak out over, say, an Islamic group trying to force you to tear down pictures of women on billboards because you are not honoring women properly or telling you that surfing the web or watching cable TV which portrays immoral scenes and violence is now illegal and punishable by imprisonment or death?

    Tell you what. If that ever happened here in the US, I would probably take up a sniper rifle and knock off a few foreign soldiers myself. I don't blame the Iraqi's for doing the same to our soldiers. We DO reap what we sow. Invading a country and expecting them not to have any severely pissed off countrymen taking out our soldiers is just plain stupid.

    I think they are paying the price of resentment that has built up because it appears little planning and effort has gone into repairing infrastructure and providing water and so on. I guess the needs of the Iraqi people are well down on the list of priorities.

    Oh, did I use the word "well" ... I wonder why I though of "well" and "priorities" in the same sentance. Hmmn ... what three letter word could be missing ... on the tip of my tongue ...

    The Allies claim that the attacks hinder the rebuilding of Iraq, and the recent sabottages, are the causes to the slow rebuilding, but they never claim that their incessant bombing of governmental buildings and infrastuctures was a factor in disrupting the system. You don't see them making that statement or/and take responsibility for it.

    Funny how that during the war they were protecting the oil infrastructures, and now the rebels are taking care of that.

    A lot of wishful thinking on the part of the Allies in this war. But yeah, the Iraqis are far from their minds.

    Here in the US they did plan for the worst case scenario and informed the public that this could take a couple of years .What gets me is these imbeciles can't even run this country but think they will be able to set up a government that will follow the US lead in elimanating the threat of hostility .There have been factions fighting over religion and politics for thousands of years in the middle east , they just can't seriously expect any long term success . I can't help but think of the Ron Reagan incident and beiruit , sure they can rebuild Bahgdad but how long will it take for the arabs who want the US out to destroy everything?
