Anyone read the books (besides Franz's, Jonsson's and Penton's books) on this page? : http://www.commentarypress.com/booklist-eng.html

What did you think of them?

The books by Jonsson are extremely informative and absolute musts for an ex-JW who wants to know why the WTS's chronology and "end times" claims are bogus. Mitchell's booklet is excellent. I really enjoyed Peck's book. Haven't read Banks' book. Wouldn't give you an acorn for "Darwin on Trial", since Johnson uses dishonest lawyerly tactics rather than scientific discussion to get his point across.

I've read most of them. Besides the ones Alan mentions, Jon Mitchell's booklet is also very informative. It demolishes Fred Franz's outrageous notions of naos and hieron. It is only a few dollars and worth having in your collection.

Peck wrote another book called "People of the Lie," which I've also read. It is about the nature of evil.

While Jonsson's "Gentile Times" is incredibly well-researched and documented, be prepared for a long haul in getting through it. It's quite technical. On the other hand his "Sign of the Last Days - When" is a breezy read and is packed with facts that demolish WT claims about earthquakes, wars, and famines being any different now than in all of history. In fact there are number of good examples of world wars that all happened before 1914. I highly recommend this one, because JWs cannot defend their "last days" claims when confronted with the evidence it produces.
