    Hi to everyone

On Saturday i bought a book called ' The Book Your Church Dosen't Want You To Read'.

On page 217 i came across these words and i quote, One day while i was reading my bible,I made a startling discovery. After reading 2 kings 19, I flipped a number of pages and read some more. To my astonishment, I found myself reading the same words. Now, class, open your bibles to 2 Kings 19 --- and also to Isaiah 37.

These books are word for word identical ! No bible Scholar has been able to give me a satisfactory explanation for this.

This book i am reading is an eye opener if ever there was one. It also has some quotes in it from the Watchtower about the time of the end.

Reccomended reading in fact a must read.

    LOL @ simon.

C'mon, QCA, if you're gonna dig up dirt on the Bible, there's much better stuff than this. I can't believe that the author couldn't get an answer from Bible scholars. Anyone who's even read a book about the history of the bible knows that many of the books are redactions and compilations of separate writings.

Most scholars believe that Isaiah was written by at least two people, probably more. Even if one accepts the idea that the all the prophetic portions were written by one person, however, there would be nothing to prevent him--or more likely, the compiler of his writings--from including a historical narrative from another source in which he figured prominently.

So whats new! This has been known for years.

    Isaiah written 732 BC.

    2 Kings written 580 BC

How often have you come across historical records quoting from earlier sources.

There are a few other passages also in the OT the same.

    One I remember is:-

    2 Chron 36 :22-23

    Ezra 1:1-3

Let's see: when the Bible contains different perspectives on the same events, it's "contradicting itself". Two passages agree with each other and it's another "Bible problem"? The poor old Bible just can't win, can it??

How about this perspective: Kings ends with Jerusalem falling to Babylon and therefore is presumably written about that time. The author often quotes other works and in this case quotes from Isaiah. To me this makes the case (contrary to those who who want to make Isaiah, or at least the second half, a late work) that (the book of) Isaiah existed before the exile.
