It's written in the bible that we are ALL sinners, right?

It's written in the bible that God forgives, right?

It is impossible for us not to sin, so what difference is there if we sin alot or sin a little?

Not that I believe in this, but the answer logically would be a question in return, "can you repent a lot?"

    What is Sin?

    That is the question.

Now that's never been a question for me. The only question I've ever had about that was where do I draw the line? And it came to me in a dream once that the line was with animals, gays, and ugly women. Other than that, I'm game. (No offense now; ;let's not get anythig started here. Just a little humor)

    Sin

    1. A transgression of a religious or moral law, especially when deliberate.
    2. Theology.
      1. Deliberate disobedience to the known will of God.
      2. A condition of estrangement from God resulting from such disobedience.
    3. Something regarded as being shameful, deplorable, or utterly wrong.
    4. So Theologically thinking you would first have to beleive in God in order to have sinned. Ethecally you can sin against mankind, but it doesn't get you into Hell Fire, but could reap you the Gallows. So if your thinking in a theologial mind set, ya gotta beleive in
God first then be able to sin, so I do not sin, I am sinless because I do not beleive in a god, which come to think of it is a sin Hmmmmmm......

Sin: doing what is against the best interest of others. Trampling upon our fellows and ourselves.

Speaking bibilically, it's not really necessary to exactly define sin to answer JH's question. The basic answer is that God judges us by looking at our motives, rather than our actions. (Jo 3:19) That is precisely why He forgive sins.

I say sin all you want...as long as you don't have to apologize for something it really is all good. No harm no foul=no sin in my book.

Whatever your concept of sin is, does there not exist things damaging to oneself which each and every one of us has a different limit. If as a witness, your religion was your only limitation, conscience being their term, brainwashing in my words, did anyone struggle to find balance as I did for some years after leaving? And would you class that as sinning even if only against yourself?

I don't like the sin concept much. I prefer to think of it as a "learn as you go" kinda life. You can not learn if you never make a mistake. Sin is really just a mistake you make because you didn't follow someone elses ideals. How can you know if the ideals are correct without trying both sides of them? The concept of sin insinuates the idea of a "faultless life." It is totally impossible, and it is a "black and white" comcept with a total disregaurd for any grey scale activities and or any learning curve. The sin concept is a setup to create followers that need to be instructed in what is good and what is evil. With this "sin" concept in place the only fruitage of life becomes guilt and a need for forgiveness. Why not just drop the whole sin concept and replace it with the idea of karma? If I screw somebody else then I will get screwed back, the payment will be made and done with. The fruitage of karma is learning, no need for guilt. When I start to do it differently then the results will change, only the learning is important.
