  Potential recruits of the cult known as Jehovah's Witnesses/WTBTS will eventually be asked the following two questions as they hand over every aspect and control of their lives to the org;

  On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?

  Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?

  By your clear and affirmative answer to both questions............bla, bla,bla.

  Such potential victims should ask JW's the following two questions before they even consider starting a study with them;

  If I get baptised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, will I be expected to discontinue friendships and social events with people who are not Jehovah's Witnesses?

  If after getting baptised I raise any serious doubts with other JW's regarding doctrinal and/or organizational topics, will I be chastised in some way by other JW's?

  By your clear and affirmative answer to both questions, I wish to cease any contact or association with you and your denomination.

  Hey, WE do the questions around here. Anybody asking questions of their own will be considered as prideful and will be suspected of apostasy.

  And, in light of the WT society's "data collection policy" , there should be a third question:

  " Do you understand that by undergoing water baptism, you hereby give up ALL claim to your private data, and that this is held in perpetuity by the Society?"

  Serioulsy! Go to the JWdotORG site, and in the search field type "data protection policy" and read the train wreck of an excuse of a policy!

  A 4th question "do you understand that your life belongs to us and is no longer yours and that you are giving your mind over for us to control, you don't need to worry about thinking for yourself from now on?"

  A bit off topic but I never noticed before that the question phrases dedication and baptism as two seperate things.

  Thank you for the suggestion. Here is a quote from the written Data Collection Policy at jw.org:

  4. The organization has an interest in permanently maintaining data regarding an individual’s status as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Deleting such information would unduly infringe on the organization’s religious beliefs and practices. (Bold, Italics and Underlining by Aude)

  4. a data subject requests access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data or sensitive personal data about himself, the organization will fairly consider granting the request by balancing the interests of the individual in gaining access or correcting or deleting data against the legitimate religious interests of the organization, including whether granting the request would endanger the organization’s right to religious freedom and practice.

  I bet if we contacted them to delete any information they had on us from when we were an active jw that they wouldn't comply with our request.
  

  Audesapere - to an extent isn't it a breach of confidentiality announcing from the platform that someone had been disfellowshiped or reproved and giving a local needs talk not long after so everyone knows why they've been disciplined??
