Something wrong with the content of past threads? Seems to be lost...

    Hi Simon,

Firstly, THANKYOU for this great site and the community it supports.

I know it must be a huge job to keep the site active!

I noticed something today when I pasted a link to a past thread into a current topic.

It was one I started 8 months back called "eagerly awaiting the death of billions" (or something like that!). It seems that although there were over 35 comments made on that thread, only two are visible...

It was a thread that I thought might help one of the newer posters here, as many had contributed great comments.

Is that thread lost, or can it be salvaged somehow?

Thanks again for all you do!

Looks like one of the update jobs corrupted the post indexes for some topics. I'm running another job that should put them right.

In future, and as a general 'how to ask an IT person for help', it really helps to include a link to things rather than force someone to search for it. At least you provided some info to find it though - you would not believe how many requests people send that are "I have an X that isn't working right, can you look at it?" ... really? you're going to force me to have to waste a cycle by having to reply first saying "what is the X involved?" (again, this is general IT, not your request specifically).

Even developers do it in support chatrooms: "I'm getting an error when I try to ...". Tell us what the error is !!! LOL

The update should have finished, I couldn't find any topics still affected but let me know if you notice any.
