"Just" Prayers

In Christendom there is a phenomenon where people will pray a prayer where the word "just" turns up an extraordinary number of times. Eg. "Father, we just pray that you would just be among us, and just bless us, as we just humbly seek your will", etc. Does this occur in Kingdom Halls?

I just dont know if this happens in KH's, I just never noticed. Something that happens in some churches that doesnt happen in KHs is people keep saying "Amen" when someone is speaking from the platform. huh, whats their problem anyway?

We just need to pray to god for reassurance, we just need your prayers so that we can survive, Just pray to god and he will see that you have what you need...

or this application, Thy just wrath unto our foes...

However as you have your question phrased as I was taught to pray in the JW faith you could only pray for things you just needed, remember we could not ask for more then our fair share.

    So therefore...

Dear heavenly father I pray through your son Jesus and just ask that you please stop my father from what he had been doing. I just want to live as a normal child, just so I can feel as I see the other little kids do. I am just asking that you are swift in your judgement upon my daddy. I am just asking you this one thing God, please just stop him now. I am asking your just wrath upon the monster who lives in my home. I am just asking for this and not a pony, just peace of body and mind. Through your son Jesus I ask this, Amen.

But if one thinks about it, it was never "just" as we were always told to pray for something else. It was never. "just".

I think the word "just" used in that sense implies a dependence on God's mercy and willingness to help us. "Just" do this, it isn't too much, I don't want to ask too much.

As for justice? ha! You're lucky if you get a dose of spiritual morphine. Justice is not what we need or want. We need mercy. Euthanasia, but God isn't that nice.

I had an idea today that I'm not sure has been done before.

I was thinking about starting an atheist prayer website. The deal is, people pay me money to pray for them. It would be kinda like a last ditch effort for the desparate. Since I'm an atheist, god (whatever god you would like me to pray to) should answer my prayers to make me believe in his/her/their powers. Just send me a letter describing what you would like me to pray for and to what god - along with a cashier's check, money order, or cash. Satisfaction guaranteed!*
