'So, send me somebody', i said to eckart tolle. 'But he's not dead', i thought. 'Praying to a live person is unheard of.'
‘Can collector', i thought as i saw the guy slowly driving his bicycle w bags hanging off the handle bars, narrowly missing my own. Out past the fisherman, all the way to the point, invading the space of a young couple talking. ‘What right does he have passing by so close, disrespecting their space?’, i thought.
He leaned his bike against the broken concrete of the disused pier. Then he walked right out to the end, and sitting down, he stuck his feet up in the air. 'Fucking weirdo', i thought. He sat up, did some shoulder stretches, front and back. Then he did some other stretches that i realized might be yoga. My opinion of him, as he calmly sat facing the setting sun changed quickly. A spirit of strength mixed w pureness and green nature god suddenly filled the area. I wondered was that yoga that he started with?
He got up and got out some pins like for bowling, that jugglers use. He started out w simple stuff, then did standard three pin juggling for a couple of minutes. Ah, he's a street entertainer, who comes here to practice, i thought.
He stowed the pins and walked back along the water’s edge, in my direction, contemplating the river. Curious about the yoga, i walked over and asked him? 'Yes, i do yoga, tai chi and qi gong', he said. He said that he swims in the st lawerence river from may to november. While he has an apartment downtown, he sleeps outside when the weather is nice. He has to be near nature.
‘Welfare?’ i ask. ‘Yes’, he says, ‘i haven't worked since i was 39. I worked as a security guard before that, then i quit. It's capitalist bs. I come here to look at the sunset, then i paint it. I'm perfectly happy. I'm actualized, being my real self. Those rich people aren't happy’, he says. ‘Actually, i know a couple who are. They are like builders, building businesses,’ i countered.
This happened today. There is a bit more. If a couple are interested in it, and i feel like it, i'll add it.
Btw, i don't believe in prayer.
