Ya'll remember my story of how this woman gave me $300.00 to buy my Knights of Columbus Regalia back in June, right? I got it, this is a pic of me, the INCOMING Grand Knight for my Council in South Carolina, and my Dad, the Out-going Grand Knight back at home in the MidWest. Dad will be 70 in two months. Hope I look that good then.

Latin,
The Knights of Columbus are a Fraternaly Organization for Catholic Men. Our four focii are Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
Last year the Knights of Columbus gave over 163 million dollars to charity, and provided over 60 million volunteer hours.
We were formed back in 1882 as a result of anti-immigrant anti-Catholic sentiment on the East Coast of the US. It was the goal of our founder, Father Michael J. McGivney, to give $1000.00 to each widow of each member. Seems these Catholic men were dying, and leaving their poor widows and orphans destitute.
Sense then the KofC has blossomed into an organization that as an Insurance Company receives the highest rating in all three scales that measure Insurance companies (listed as one of the top 10 Insurance companies in the country).
We have 44 Billion dollars of insurance in force through the voluntary program. Out of 1.5 million members I'd guess that only 20% hold the Insurance, maybe more. In my council it's like 30%.
We strive to enlighten ourselves and others, support one another spiritually and fiscally if necessary, support our priests (the ones that don't molest kids), etc.
