Maybe so, but what would you expect from a Christian fundie site? Just like the JWs, they hype up what they see as badness in the world, to prove how much the world is being corrupted by the Devil and to emphasis the need to worship whichever God they are promoting.

i do think that there has been an explosion of interest in the occult though over the past few years, with tv programmes and books etc, bringing it into the mainstream. i think it's only typical of christian site to moan about it.

I think the revival of the occult and earth religions is due to the decline of trust and faith in the mainstream religions.
The end of the 18th century was the start of the revival with the breaking away from these main religions by groups like the adventists/Bible students and also the return to occult religions.
Aleister Crowley and the like became prominent in society and many of the 'high society' class were involved in spiritism and black magic rituals. The Rosicrucians came to prominence.
Obviously freemasonry has a part to play in this, because even tho' they claim to be none religious, we see that there symbolism and there beliefs are all straight from the occult.
Over the last century, this occult revival has increased, and now we have many occult themes played out in films and books etc.
In the 60's we had the 'New Age' movement which broke away from the mainstream religions and worshipped the earth gods of paganism.
But as you know, Pleasuredome, the occult is much bigger and more widespread than anyone really knows.
