  I saw a John Ankerberg show where Lorri MacGregor said this book was to be burned. Why? I don't think it was official but the book does have damning evidence about the 1925 debacle in it when I made an effort to find a copy. (most copies go for $400 or more on the internet). Here are some quotes.

  I'm not sure who Johm Ankerberg is. And who was intent on burning his book?

  The quotes read like something right out of jw literature. Was he a jw?

  In whatever case, just like the jw teaching, none of it came true.

  Rocketman... the book was by Van Amburgh, a JW. (He was one of the seven directors imprisoned in 1918.) Lorri MacGregor claimed, on Ankerberg's show, that the Society wanted copies of this book burned, to cover up their false prophecies.

  Personally, I've never known of the Society going so far as to order their old books burned. So I am highly dubious of that claim. But the book is certainly an excellent example of failed WTS prophecy!

  I, too, doubt that the Society expressed that they wanted to burn this book because if that indeed was the directive, ALL of their books printed at this time should have also been burned.(they all sound the same)........Since it was written by Van Amburgh, could it be that he fell out of favor with Rutherford or that Rutherfood decided to only approve of his own books written by the Society???

  Well, this book was not only printed by the IBSA, but includes a foreword by Rutherford; an excerpt:

  This book is prepared for the express purpose of enabling boys and girls quickly to grasp a knowledge of the new order of things which the Lord is beginning to establish in the earth, and to point them to the way that will lead each boy and girl who obeys to complete success, joy and happiness. It describes in detail the Ruler of this new and righteous government. It shows what great love he has for the children and for their parents. It tells that he will restrain the oppressor, lighten the burden of the people, make the way of each one equal who does right, and bless them with peace. It points out that the blind eyes will be opened and the deaf ears again will hear; that the lame and the crippled will become strong, and grow up to perfection; that the sick will become well, and that in due time sorrow, suffering, and death will cease. It shows that the thorns and the thistles will be removed from the fields; that the fresh grass and flowers will replace them; that the desert shall blossom as a rose and all the earth become a blessed and happy place in which to live. It shows that every family will own a home and enjoy the blessings thereof, sit under their own vine and fig tree and eat the fruits thereof, and none shall make them afraid. It tells that the new Ruler, in the administration of the governmental affairs, will make all happy, until every one will be joining in praise to God and manifesting kindness to each other.

  The Proclaimers book similarly suggests that this book served a very useful purpose:

  This led to other developments. The Golden Age, in 1920, carried a feature entitled "Juvenile Bible Study," with questions accompanied by Scripture citations in which the answers could be found. That same year, The Golden Age ABC was published; it was an illustrated booklet for use by parents in teaching basic Bible truths and Christian qualities to their youngsters. A book entitled The Way to Paradise, written by W. E. Van Amburgh, followed in 1924. It was adapted to "intermediate students of the Bible." For a time it was used at the meetings for younger ones. Additionally, in America, "Junior Witnesses" had their own arrangements for field service. In Switzerland a youth group formed an association called "Jehovah’s Youth," for those between 13 and 25 years of age. They had their own secretary’s office in Berne, and a special magazine, Jehovah’s Youth, was edited and printed on the Society’s presses there. These youths had their own meetings and even put on Bible dramas, as they did in the Volkshaus in Zurich for an audience of 1,500.

  You all needn't be surprised nor dubious about the society directing that congregation libraries be culled. When 1975 didn't perform as advertised, the society wanted all congregation libraries culled of books written before a certain date, "to make certain there is enough room for new publications that are planned." WHAT PLANNED? Why would they have planned anything? the end was coming wasn't it?

  I told my elder type uncle what I though about burning the old stuff and I was horrified that they were just attempting to hide their failure. He blew it all off as some error in figuring the new date for 1914, to which I reminded how concretized the JWs had become so dogmatic about. And now 1814 ain't nothin' special. I can remember a time a person would be DFed for not believing that 1914 date.

  You know, any one of us could prove the entirety of JW teachings nothing but bullshit in one afternoon, their prophecies are crap, why should anyone be afraid of them?

  We found the book " The way to Paradise " along with "Faith on the March" In my late Mother in laws effects. Unfortuantely she didnt find paradise she had been a witness for 47 years but due to Serious illnesses she had not been able to go out "on the work" She was 81 when she died and despite there being 5 congregations in this area all the Elders had broken limbs or didnt know her they said so not one would conduct her funeral.

  This could have been due to her at the last minute saying she believed Jesus died for her sins . What a fine Christian org they are lol never mind by reason of her statement about Jesus an anglican Minister was pleased to conduct it praise the Lord . Krug
