Toronto - Aposto-Fest 2001

I am tentatively planning an event for all JW's/Ex-Jws who want to attend.

Mid August, I would like to have a picnic either at Wasaga Beach (an hour north of Toronto) or at Toronto Island.

A lot will depend on interest shown and where people are travelling from for it.

Let me know who is interested and we can plan accordingly. Feel free to post this on other JW boards you may frequent. "Bad Association" is guaranteed! :)

If you are coming up from the States, Toronto is about 1.5 hours from Buffalo. I can also look into accomodations for those needing them.

I might want to go.
Used to live about 40 mins. north of Toronto. Wasaga Beach sounds vaguely familiar, but where is Toronto Island????

Toronto Island is right across the harbour from the CN Tower. You have to take a Ferry across the harbour to get there.

Centre Island is part of "Toronto Island" where the Amusement Park is and the West Island is great for picnics, barbeques, volleyball etc. Toronto Island airport is also on the West side of the Island. Starting to sound familiar yet?

hell for those so inclined the Nude Beach is a 10 minute walk from where the picnic area is..to each their own. :)

The other option is the July 4th Weekend but to be held in Massachusetts.

I will be there for the fireworks and July 4th celebrations. I am also excited since it will also be my first ever birthday (July 2) party with my Father!! yea!!!!!

So if anyone wants to share in these festivities let me know and we can arrange something.

Ah, yes! That little island across from the CN Tower is officially "Toronto Island"? Only knew it as Centre Island.

Mid-August sounds good to me. We still have friends in Burlington, so we could make the outing and visit friends as well. (I'd be driving up from Detroit.) Black flies are waaaaaaay gone by then, right?
