well, only God knows their heart, it is not for us to judge the person.

A family member died recently, and was never a JW, (only smart one in the bunch, and me of course).

Well, someone had the nerve to say the above comment, no one ever invited him over, or visited him,had any real connection with him. But after he dies ..............

    well, you get the picture.

How about the ones who die and are DF'd? That is another question to which I have no answer....

Sorry to hear about the death in your family.

Something my mother told me a few years ago after a close relative of ours died ---

"It's better for him to have died, because now he can be resurrected." She was referring to him living until armageddon and then dying by the hand of God with no resurrection possible. To this day, I still get furious just thinking about what she said. I reminded her several months ago about this little phrase and asked her how she would feel if I told our deceased relative's wife what she said. She told me, "why would you want to do that? That would only upset XXXXX even further." I told her that if she firmly believed that was the truth and he would be resurrected, then XXXXX should be very happy to know that her deceased husband would return again. She just said it would be best if I never repeated what she said because XXXXX wouldn't understand our beliefs fully.

But I know what you mean Run. Witnesses have no natural or loving feelings to those who are not of their kind. Most witnesses feel closer to ones in the congregation rather than their own family in the "world." Sickening.

Yes, Jourles, I heard the same sentiments over the years. It is amazing how Jehovah's Witnesses had the capacity to judge people even before God does. I wonder if they ever realize that they violate the Christian principles "Judge not lest you be judged" and "the same judgment you render will be rendered to you."

I often wondered why Christ said the heavier judgement would be upon the one who called his brother "raca" (fool). But I'm begining to understand now what he really meant: one who has called his brother a "fool" is claiming to be able to read the heart and attribute motive. "The fool has said in his heart, 'there is no God.' " Only God has this ability....and only God can render judgement.

It's because they are programmed to do whatever the WTS tells them to do.

The WTS says "Shun this person" and they do it without a second thought or pity

The WTS says "Only Jehover knows a person's heart" and all of a sudden they have a big heart.

I have had JWs say that to me as well. My response, "Well, if that is true then instead of going door to door talking to people, we should be killing them, or better yet planting bombs at the malls so we could guarantee that more people would be resurrected into the new system rather than die at Armageddon. That's about how crazy your comment sounds."

The dubs believe in the scripture that says death wipes away sin because they have paid the penalty at death.(ROMANS) They never explain why Judah Iscariot does't get the same ammentity or adam and eve or any of the others they say will not be resurrected who have died and supposedly paid sins price.

I used to say the same thing. "Why not kill them now??? It would be the loving thing to do."

The whole convoluted reasoning on this was that if people died before Armageddon it would not be by God's executioners. So, Jehovah's Witnesses felt there was a "hope" that this person would be resurrected and given another chance. But since God can read the heart at the moment of a person's death, what difference would time make?

I'm not sure what the official Watchtower view on this was. Any information, Blondie?
