What about hermaphrodites?

A recent post about transgender people made me think. I think its obvious that transgenders and homosexuals are easily banned in JWdom because the people in question were clearly born with their respective sex organs.

    HOWEVER

What about intersex people aka hermaphrodites? I did some research on the condition and, while it's true that some intersex individuals have only small vestigial organs or even only internal differences, their are others who are TRULY both at once, (albeit infertal). To describe it bluntly, some intersex individuals have a full size functioning penis over top of a full size functioning vulva/vagina (without testicles), and they may also have breasts and possible facial hair, in other words: a true toss-up mixture.

I'm not saying this to be titillating or crude, but I'm seriously wondering how such a true hermaphrodite would be handled by the congregation, what their role would be, and if marriage would even be possible.

Has anyone seen a situation in this regard amongst JWs, or any other religion for that matter?

Simplistic WTS explanation: mankind's imperfection, everything will be put right by god, have more faith.

Given the small size of each 'set' concerned it's possible that it comes up so rarely that they have never really been pushed on the issue.

I can't speak for GOD, but I'm fine with She-males, as long as they are super-hot. We're talking 8+ on a 10 scale. That's just my personal view, take it or leave it.

One plus is if you have a disagreement with them, and tell them to go screw themselves, they actually can.

There is also a condition where a person is genetically male, but appears female at birth, due a genetic defect that caused the genitalia not to develop. If not caught by the doctor the child is assumed to be female, however often the child does not feel like a female, especially as they get older, and will never develop into a woman. What would they expect the person to do?

In another famous case from many years ago, the penis of a boy was inadvertently lost due to a medical error. They mistakenly thought the best thing to do was to raise him as a girl. Unfortunately the child never adapted to being a girl, because not having a penis does not actually make you a woman, the child's identity was male no matter how much therapy and counseling he received. Gender identity ids far more nuanced the the existence of a penis or not.

It's a problem for a religion that sees things as black and white, because nature isn't always so black and white.

This was the case with someone in my former sign language congregation. This individual was studying with a sister for a long time. But they decided that they identified themselves more as a guy. The study was then shifted to a brother. Basically the person is now a man and must stay that way if that is the choice. No flip flopping. They did get baptized. I have to be honest, and give the congregation credit. Everyone loved him. It was hard to remember "her" as a "him" since he had more of a feminine face. However, I spoke to him all the time. He was funny and always made fun of me. No one had any problems with him. Believe it or not, I actually miss many of the people in sign language including him.

Bible answer:John 9:2-3 "Teacher why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his

own sins or those of his parents? It was not because of his sins or his parents sins, Jesus

answered, he was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him.

OK, we have GOD playing games again. How can the power of God be seen in him???

So in the case of a hermaphrodite he or she must make it known to the world so the

power of God can be seen in him  some strange way.

What do you call Angels? Angelic hermaphrodites..

Copy-paste from my answer on the transgender thread. Person described had (incomplete) external sex organs of both genders.

I personally know of someone who was raised as a boy (external sex organs indicated as much), felt more like a woman during puberty, and (after chromosome testing) turned out to actually be a woman biologically.
Only after producing the test results she was permitted/ordered by Bethel to be a woman from now on. Oh, a corrective surgery (removing the man-like parts) was also done (possibly because Bethel 'encouraged' it).
Imagine this person would have been a guy by chromosomes, but still identified as a woman? Instant disfellowshipping! Or she would have to act like a man, and lie to herself the rest of her JW life.

Very tragic story. It was on tv decades ago..

They could also have some interesting threesomes.
