Social issues. The Bible foretold that in “the last days” men would be “lovers of themselves, . . . having no natural affection, . . . without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness.” (2 Timothy 3:1-3) Therefore, it should not surprise us that child abuse is practiced on a large scale today. This subject was given frank treatment in the article “Help for the Victims of Incest” in The Watchtower of October 1, 1983. Eight years later, the cover series “Healing the Wounds of Child Abuse” in the October 8, 1991, Awake! was carefully prepared to provide understanding and hope for victims as well as to enlighten others so that they can offer helpful assistance. This series of articles elicited the greatest reader response in the history of our journals. One reader wrote: “The greatest impact on my recovery has been the comforting thoughts and Scriptural references in these articles. To know that Jehovah did not think any less of me was an overwhelming relief. To know that I was not alone was equally comforting.”

Now why was that response so big if child abuse isn't a problem in Jah's Org?

I think the insinuation is that the WTBTS has been helpful to "so many" on the outside of their org...saves face and gives a witness at the same time....I think they call it killing two silentlambs with one stone, but hey, what do I know?....

Interestingly, when that 1991 Asleep! article went to press and current Boss Man Ted Jaracz found out about it, he went running to the pressroom to try to stop it. He was unsuccessful. Now that he's the main GB moron and truly the Power Behind the Throne, it's no wonder the Society's policys on child molestation remain putrid.

Aww, it's so nice of Jehovah to help abuse victims after the fact.

Well clearly, from the quote provided: ..“The greatest impact on my recovery has been the comforting thoughts and Scriptural references in these articles. To know that Jehovah did not think any less of me was an overwhelming relief."... there was a flood of response to the article and it was all supportive of and in agreeance with the WT biblical position. (lol)

That first article dates to 1983. Here we are in 2003 (20 years later)! You would think that there would be no abuse problems within JWs today if theirs was as rigorous a policy, as claimed. Au contraire!

If the WT Society was really GOD's Tool then there would never have been a child-abuse problem.
But since it isn't then expect more.
And if it is GOD' s Org. then Jehovah is a pedo.
Crazy crazy. How I could have fallen for this crap in the past still baffles me. "When the Truth is found to be lies and all the joy within you dies". (Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane)

If this what you say are the truth, something must be very wrong, cant some get ridh of this wolf, as it seems to bee, the hard situation fore the dfd, and the hard polyci fore wicktims in sexual abuse, is something who hurt JW very much now, but perhaps if this is the truth it will hurt jehovas name to much, if a biff scandal coming upp,so GB have not the curage to go public.

On the other side all this talk about TJ can be evel lies, who nows?

I have heard rumors about that some in GB want him out, but this is also bad lies perhaps?

Yes, that is exactly the point: If the Watchtower was aware of the widespread problem of sexual abuse that long ago the response should have been a "wakeup call" to the Society. It wasn't as if the leaders were unaware of their own internal problem. They were keeping secret files on these cases of sexual abuse.

I think this is all part of the Society's strategy. It cites these older articles to give the impression that it has been a leader in making the public aware of the problem. But in a sense, these articles condemn the Watchtower for not taking action to help the vicitims in their own organization.

No, I'm afraid that the Watchtower is still trying to hide its own problem and cover up its own scandal.
