A bit surprised to see the Unification Church (Moonies) in the news this week:
Quick background:
Japan's former prime minister was killed by a gunman last week. The suspect's family are Unification church members and have donated large sums of money to the Church. The shooter for some reason thinks the former prime minister was supportive of the church and had a grudge against him. The crime is bringing a lot of attention to the Unification Church and to its offshoots in the US.
Very interesting. It explains a lot of the strange early reports that it “wasn’t political” and the gunman said it was because the prime minister supported certain “groups”.
