Please share your experiences with being Labeled as "Bad Association". I was labelled with Limted and Distasteful association after I was caught smoking pot at school with some of my friends ( I am not condoning drug taking as a teenager, drug experimentation if possible should be kept until after you have finished developing into adulthood) Thanks and look forward to your stories.......

I was considered a bad association for most of my JW life, which was from when I was born up to my early childhood. I remember people talking crap about my "bad behavior" when I was about 9. Most of the times they talked among themselves about me without letting me know why, so I never knew the specific excuse they used for the label.

Every young jw with a non-jw father was marked as bad association in my congregation including me...we fought back and associated with each other, had good wholesome times, became regular pioneers....the so-called good association, 3 out of wedlock pregnancies and quick marriages leading to divorce 10 years later, drug addicts, alcoholics, and finally 3f'd....next generation even worse, 2 pedophiles.

I was labeled as a womanizer because I was seen around the neighborhood with a girlfriend or three (I wasn't dating them at the same time...lol) during my inactive years between the ages of 14 to 17.
The elder who labeled me as such was a presiding overseer and married. His name was Keith Monroe. I was 18 and had begun re-attending meetings and I was trying to make some new friends. I met three guys: Mike, Maurice and another guy. They all cut me off after just a couple of months because Keith Monroe told them I was a womanizer.
I actually called him to confront the issue and he denied everything.
I heard that he was still calling me a womanizer. I asked a presiding overseer from another congregation (David Kellum) to call Keith to ask him to stop. Again, he denied ever saying it, all the while looking down upon me...both he and his wife.
About two months later, BREAKING NEWS: Keith Monroe bolted from his wife and ran off with a pioneer sister.
I LMAO, literally. I bumped into Mrs. Monroe at a gas station and asked her, sarcastically,"How are things at home?". Her mouth dropped in shock and I gave her a half smile and walked off into the sunset.

I concur; although my father was dfe'd ... added to that I'm an introvert by nature, meaning that I did not fit in and had only 1 or 2 close friends.
Not a pleasant experience by any stretch of the imagination.

Our CO, Tug Wilson, was a resident London CO who just worked the Greater London circuits. He had 2 boys with whom I used to play as a kid. Until one of them told me that his Mum disapproved of me and that our contact had to be limited. I was a bad association.
I still couldn't care less..

In my old hall there was a group of teenage pioneers and all around do-gooders who referred to their group as "the unholies". They did pretty much everything, dating/smoking/drinking/porn/etc. When I became a teenager and tried to fit in it took several months before I was accepted. Since my parents were recent converts I believe that the group did not trust me. But in time I fit in pretty good ! But then one time several of the pioneers were busted for under aged drinking, and since I was the low man on the totem pole I was thrown under the bus in order to save their parents reputations.
its funny how corrupt I became AFTER studying with the jw's. And getting involved with the kids at the hall. Not a very nice time,
