I renamed this plummeting thread to a better title (imo). Vietnam Primer is a book full of experience that was gained by soldiers fighting in vietnam. While that was a jungle war, and the present one is mainly urban, it may still contain some info useful to an army facing gorilla tactics. Or, it may just be interesting reading. Yeah , planet of the apes is one of my favorite movies . I'm talking the original one not the one they made a couple years ago of which I gave a thumbs down too.

When the last one came out, I rented all the older ones, watched them all in sequence, then went to see the last one at the theatre. I agree with you, and I think I'll say the same for many contemporary movies, too much emphasis on the effects, and very little left for the imagination. Poor story lines.
