Just wondering. Some of the articles I've read, Warwick city administrators claim their city is like 30% exempt due to a heavy presence of religious groups who are moving to the area. Now I am watching the show "The Path" and they too are in upstate NY
Is upstate New York a known Meca for cults?

I suppose it's cheap, no one else wants to live / work there, but it's still close to the city (NY)
They have the same thing in the UK - it's called East Grinstead

East Grinstead is seen as the ‘cult’ capital of the country. In recent years East Grinstead has been home to major headquarters buildings for several religious groups including Rosicrucians, Scientologists, Christian Scientists, the Ashworth Dowsers, the Pagan Federation, Opus Dei and the Church of The Latter Day Saints, not to mention a large number of other Christian denominations.

I didn't see any mention of Islamberg, a rural hamlet in the town of Tompkins, Delaware County, New York.
Probably because it is shameful to suggest they are a cult.
Deposit, NY is a reported location of a enclave run by Muslims of the Americas. The organization is headquartered at Islamberg in New York and is led by a radical cleric in Pakistan named Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani.
A 2004 report funded by the Justice Department identifies Deposit as having a “training compound” for Muslims of the Americas (MOA).
Internal FBI records confirm that MOA members have been involved in at least 10 murders, one disappearance, three firebombings, one attempted firebombing, two explosive bombings and one attempted bombing.
A religion of peace.
