Does God listen and answer prayers for coronavirus patients?

My cousin has been in a medically induced coma for the last three weeks due to the coronavirus. We just found out today that he was sent to rehab for physical therapy. He is awake, cannot walk, and cannot talk due to damage to his vocal cords from being on a ventilator for three weeks.

My cousin has many religious friends who have posted ''get well soon'' messages on his Facebook page. I have spoken to my Uncle and Aunt wishing that he recover soon from the virus. I did not mention that I would pray for him. After 40 years as a Jehovah's Witness, I do not believe God listens and answers prayers. If God did listen and answer prayers, not one person would die from this virus. Why does one person get well from this virus and another person dies? If God is in the business of miracles, why limit his miracles for the few?

Here is a comment left on my cousins Facebook page:

Well, we definitely serve a mighty God that hears and answers prayers! Samuel was awake and watching tv when I called the hospital! Obviously Samuel is weak and has a long road ahead of him being in a coma for over 3 and a half weeks Thank u all for your prayers, nice comments and love for Samuel and our family during this time! We've been overwhelmed with gratitude! God is still in the business of miracles! He does for his children not because of anything good we've done but it's the unmerited favor of God on us!

It's a heck of a deal for JW's....they get to have it both ways.

When the outcome of any adverse situation comes out well for a JW, Jehovah surely had a hand in it...he's a mighty and loving God who hears and answers prayers.

If things end badly for a JW, they say "Jehovah doesn't allow us to be tested beyond what we can bear" "time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all" "Jehovah is not slow respecting his promises and will soon resurrect those who died faithful to him".

It's a win win situation no matter what happens.

You can get Tom Copeland to spit the virus away. What a piece of work he is. But to answer your question I have seen folks who were help by praying. With that said I believe there is no god and praying is a exercise in talking to yourself or a form of meditation. It has been shown to be very helping in your well being and can help you to get over serious illness. Still Totally ADD

If you think God is interested in curing a person who has COVID19, where the f&ck was he to prevent them from being infected? Seems to be God is always AWOL when someone really needs his help.

With professional sports cancelled we know it cannot be that he is busy blessing football players with touchdowns or baseball players with home runs, so I just don't know WTF he is so busy with at this moment in time.

Talking to ancient mythological creatures isn't going to do anything but give a momentary relief of stress and anxiety.

Nature is the god of the universe and we have to deal with the best we can, such as battling contagious health destroying viruses.
