    Wow! Talk about shunning...

Egyptian Judoka Refuses Handshake After Losing to Israeli

“That is extremely rare in judo,” the American coach Jimmy Pedro said. “It is especially disrespectful considering it was a clean throw and a fair match. It was completely dishonorable and totally unsportsmanlike on the part of the Egyptian.”

Sasson went on to win a bronze medal in the event, which was won by the French legend Teddy Riner.

Was the Egyptian just being a sore loser or was it something more, i.e. racism?

Jew-hatred is a sad feature of the Arab world ...

It wasn't just being a sore loser. In the rest of the article there are several other examples of this ethnic hatred based unsportsmanlike behavior.

That's pretty rude. There is a lot of rudeness in the sports world, but it sure shows the world a lack of class and respect when one does it on the international stage of Olympic sports.

There is a national dislike of Israel in Egypt. It's not about Jews as much as about Israel (and too many Muslims have not made that distinction, just like some non-Muslims haven't distinguished between Muslim and terrorist) They have some mutual animosity, but honestly, the Olympics are a place where all that nonsense is supposed to be set aside in the spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation.

Pathetic. I would say "strip him of what he won" ... but then he's already lost, so no need.
