...slaps his thigh before looking up and collapsing with laughter.
By gum, what am I doing in this place again lol?
Just got it into me 'ead to see if I could see one or two of the old names I used to banter with years ago in here. Sadly, no doubt a few must have kicked the bucket by now and popped their clogs. Hopefully though a few of you are still kickin' about.
Me? Yeah all good. Still out of course. If truth be told JW issues hardly ever go through my mind these days if ever. Well, I have been df'ed for over 25 years now and counting so I should hope by now I'm over 99% of the issues. Bloody nora, looking back I was in a ruddy bad state back then, fuck only knows how you all put up with me. A lot of you helped back in the day more than you will ever know so take this as a big thank you for putting up with me all those years ago and giving me the encouragement I needed to keep going. How I never committed suicide I don't know.
Anyway that's all behind me now.
Spent several years volunteering on the refugee situation in Europe. Was heavily involved with the refugee boat rescues on Lesvos (lost over 3,500 including many women and children to drowning - very stressful). Last few years back working for myself selling boats and outboard engines here in Cornwall. Pandemic bollocks hit my profits hard this season but all things being equal still not a bad trading season, at least I've still made a good profit and I'm still working flat out and I absolutely LOVE it.
Still no woman in my life lol. Any takers LOL? Gormless twat (6FT 6 and 53), no teeth, bald as a coot, crazy sense of humour, smoker, very light drinker, addicted to 'work', must love boats...please send photo of boat and outboard if you have one. :)
Elpi (half the Greek work for 'hope') photo attached was found next to the refugee camp run by the German anarchists at No Border Kitchen Lesvos (where I also volunteered) 7 miles from the Moria detention facility on the outskirts of Mytilene. Found her when she was just 3 weeks old and could fit into the palm of my hand and we've been inseparable ever since - now 4 1/2 years old. Scooped her up (stray pup) popped her into my van which doubled as my sleeping 'pod' to keep my costs down and hand fed her to the healthy happy daft dog she is now. The rest is history. She came down with me again in the van to Athens from west Cornwall (United Kingdom) in 2017.
SPLAT. Celtic rubs his arse ruefully...

I don’t know you, but I already like you! And your dog is beautiful! Welcome!

It must have been my wife that stopped me adding a "no Celts!" rule to the forum back in the day. They all stick together like that ...
Wow, what a blast from the past and sounds like you've been on some adventures!
Glad things are going better for you and good of you to pop back and say hi. Everything is better with a dog by your side, they make life complete. She looks adorable so take good care of her.
Oh yeah, I'm still here. No escape for the truly wicked ;)

Hello Simon (and Angharad - hopefully I got the spelling correct from memory). Thank you for the welcome. Yep interesting few years since we last wrote - must be 20 years now since I left this place.
Life has got better and better in many regards but still a struggle with everything going on in the world but still doing my best (and doing a lot better financially than many). Still not well off by any means but at least I'm still alive and kicking (and as cantankerous as ever and even more eccentric than I ever was lol).
Yep Elpi is my best friend. She's just lovely. Great companion for me. Love her to absolute bits. Pretty much inseparable now. Here she in just hanging around on Corfu (in the dog carrier I made for her) when she was a little pup. Gorgeous lil thing. -

What a cute pup. They know when you've rescued them and love you for it.
Don't have an outboard ( well I do, but it doesn't run ) but I've got a Yamaha jet boat. Fun, but hard to maneuver at low speeds. Docking in a current is hard.
Would like to move toward the pontoon boat department. Low and slow.
Nice to meet you.

Boat workshop is up near Stithians about 25 miles from Newquay. No need for me to get to know any other ex witnesses - they all do my head in. TBH as I said the JW issues very rarely go through my mind these days and I don't see myself as being any different to anyone else now. Completely forgot that I even wrote the post above Stan that's how infrequently anything to do with JWs goes through my mind these days. The JWs and exjw's come to that all feel, well, a bit of a foreign concept to me these days I've now been out of it all for so long.
The only exjw I keep in regular contact with was my best mate that I grew up with in the witnesses, he's been out for many years as well now and about 3 years ago we caught up again and rekindled our childhood friendship and now we're still best mates and write each other each week constantly taking the piss out of each other.
As for ever receiving any compensation out of the Watchtower for the years of abuse I went through in my entire childhood I've long given up that as a lost cause. People just aren't interested in addressing the abuse many of the 'brothers' went through as children themselves in the organisation - it's only the 'sisters' who get the attention on the child abuse front. Us men, our issues are / have been conveniently swept under the carpet. Sad but true.
