Well, I managed to make the round trip to Calgary Canada without too much trouble. I made the usual tour of the area including Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore and Kananaskis country. Gorgeous country. Calgary also is a well laid out city. Heavy on the enviornment and healthy eating.

While there, I came across a few items I would like to share with you all.
In the Calgary Herald I came across a picture of Serena Williams in a dress Jehovah would blish at. The occasion was the presentation of the ESPRY award for the Best Tennis player and Best athlete of the year. The dress, of her own design, was a long pink number with a V-neck that plunged to her navel and slit skirt that rose up to her crotch. There was a lot of skin exposed on this picture as she was walking, fast I presume, which opened the front for more effect. There's a lot of woman there.

Then I read about the divorce of a couple of JWs whose daughter died as a result of refusing a blood transfusion. She died of acute myeloid leukemia. Refusing a blood transfusion, condoned by her mother and herself, meant certain death fo this 17 year old. Being under aged, the burden of her death lies on her mother's shoulders. Sad situation.

Then on my return home, I stopped at a motel in Ft. Benton, MT and found that the JWs are active in placing NWT bibles in the motel rooms in that area. I thought the Gideons were the only org that did this sort of thing.

Aside from the above all went well with little to no rain and warm and sunny days.

I used to live in Canmore Albertta, until recently. It is beautiful.

I have climbed many of the peaks around there, and in Lake Louise... including Victoria, etc......

Glad that you had a good time!!

There are still a few wildfires going strong down there. Any problems with blocked roads? I agree about Calgary's road layout, but Edmonton has a prettier river valley.

We make the same trip (Calgary through to Canmore, Banff, Lake Louis and Jasper) and last year went across to Edmonton and down through Red-Deer. We've also come back on the other side of the Mountains through the Crows-Nest pass, Sparwood (sp?).

Very, very beautiful and everything so clean - people really do seem to take a pride in their town and city over there.

We can't wait to go back.

We met Lawrence who was the father of the girl you mentioned who has really been through the wringer - such a sad and tragic situation for all of them.

Serena doesn't do anything for me. She's a bit to "femail bodybuilder" type for me.

Yup, even me, the hard-core Toronto guy, can attest to Calgary's beauty, cleanliness (puts Toronto to shame) and it is easy to get around, well laid out, and the transit is easily accessable.

The backdrop of the Rockies in the background, when you are looking west: spectacular!

Nice city, and I believe the population is 1 million now, or damn close to it.

    Calgary is a lovely city.
