Okay, there's the Bible which is the inspired word of God right? It is THE message from God to manking, only its written in mystery and puzzles so only people with a good heart can understand it, right? So we need Bible aids to explain to people what the Bible is saying, because only the Faithful and Discreet Slave really understand what the Bible says and so they have to make it understandable. Couldn't they have just done this once instead of the constant printing and reprinting of the same material over and over again every two weeks??

Joel, this is a publishing company. It's their only purpose. The rest is smoke and mirrors. Don't let the smoke get in your eyes:-) GaryB

without the constant outpouring of instruction aids garbage they have no reason to exist. They use them to manipulate followers slaves, gain new believers, salespeople and stockpile treasures in heaven on earth

    Bottom line

    $$MONEY$$

Here's a scripture we didn't read too much as J-duds:

"The words of the wise ones are like oxgoads, and just like nails driven in are those indulging in collections of sentences; they have been given from one shepherd. As regards anything besides these, my son, take a warning: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh." --Eccl 12: 11,12

I had a householder take my bible out of my hands and read me that scripture when I was about 19. Then he said that JWs spend so much time on all the books that they didn't have time for the Bible. He said he would never be interested in the JW faith because they are devoted to their books. That always stuck in my mind, because I didn't know what to do with that idea. I finally, many years later, understand what he was trying to tell me.

edit to add: I guess we did read that script periodically, but only as a warning not to read too many secular books. Guess they couldn't see the other 3 fingers pointing back at THEM. HAHA.

Joel, This is NOT just a publishing company.Their existence is not solely for publishing purposes. That is as clear as day. All those books and magazines are used as propoganda to be centrally guided by. Don't let anyone fool ya. The constant repetition about the exact same stuff is done for mind controlling purposes. Those that don't see that have been duly affected.

The JW religion would be nothing if it weren't for it's literature. Christian assembly, education and the like is nothing but a guise the Tower uses to brainwash it's followers via their pubs. Think about it...what would the various facets of the JW religion look like if they only used the Bible or put much less emphasis on it's publications.

Farkel authored a very good thread on this subject about a year or so ago. I don't feel like looking it up and posting a link now, but for anyone interested it sure would be an interesting read.

More evidence that this is a forum that has become obsessed with attacking JW's.

Have you ever checked out the religion section of the library? Does it consist of only the Bible, Koran, Vedas and other so-called orignial writings?

Are you content with the microsoft manuals or do other writers sometimes come up with a better way of explaining something?

Is this so hard to figure out? There's nothing wrong with dumb questions but it becomes worse when you get dumb nonsense for answers.

Proplog2 this not an attack against jw's

.Why does the society tell the rank and file to place in the field asking for a contribution for books that have old light in them?

Why are not these books pulled from the stock?

Why have the rank and file place with householders books that no longer teach current truth?

Changes in doctrine are usually not that great. They figure if the rare situation emerges where someone is ACTUALLY interested in studying one of these books any problems can be straightened out as they encounter them.

It's a type of frugality that permeates the thinking of the old "great depression" era leaders of the organization.

They are more interested in saving money than making money.

Then you admit that most of the books are placed with persons who have no interest in studying them. Why is that?
