For those still interested in wt maneuvers, this past week's wt study re: Ransom

after the talking snake and consequences part:

"John wrote more about the Ransom" then others. . --- yeah, but

How about chapter 6, where partaking of the symbolic flesh and blood is a prerequisite for getting to enjoy the benefit of the payment, that the deity exacted, strangely feeling bound by the later law of soul for soul?

Babylon the great also handles that commodity, the ransom value, and they are ready to withhold it, perhaps, to even those in highest position, like POT-US, who do not protect all life, even the very young. so

wt where is your memory? where does it say you will get life restored by the ransom / New Covenant without partaking?

is there not a strong chain of steps in the application of the ransom? can you take, comunion, the Eucharist, the memorial denial ritual out of achieving it's goal?

I believe the Watchtower would say that all those in their graves i.e., memorial tombs, who die before the tribulation and Armageddon, will automatically be resurrected and given a chance at life during the 1000 years.

If that is the case, the question I would want answered is: What advantage is there of becoming a JW?

Witnesses probably would say that if you heard their 1914 - 1919 life-saving message and reject it, then you will not be in your memorial tomb and you will not be resurrected.

So they actually would be saving or giving a lot more people a chance at life in the new system if they just keep the "good Watchtower news" to themselves.

Vh: yeah, it is like a protection racket. you threaten people with the GT, created by the deity, then offer them a way ot by becoming slaves. The point of the Op was, that wt, in that "study", heralded John's writings as supreme on the ransom, but then developed amnesia when it comes to the key part: Jesus as quoted in John 6 on life through partaking.

Vanderhoven, exactly! I asked my jw that very thing. I think he got it for a minute but then ....well, you know how it goes, cult thinking kicks in.

    A few questions:

    1. When Jesus uttered the words in John 6, was Jesus referring to the symbolic eating and drinking of the bread and wine at the Lord's evening meal? There was a gap of one year between the events of John 6 and the institution of the memorial.

    2. If Jesus included everyone in "anyone who partakes", then why did he institute the memorial with only his 11 apostles? Is there an indication that he invited everyone, and only his 11 apostles turned up?

DW: 1) it is called "progressive revelation" and he also said, there are many things I should tell you, but you are not ready yes" or words to that effect

answer: The passover was a family celebration, and that was his closest spiritual family.

just commenting, not endorsing the talking snake story's veracity.

Dw: Jesus, at that point had the right to everlasting life earth, which he was about to sacrifice. the 11 apostles had a firm hope of an earthly kingdom too, when jesus served the bread and wine to them. They would through that symbolism have the right to everlasting life on earth, forgiveness through the new covenant.

All partakers get the right to everlasting life on earth, not immortality in heaven, but not all are called to give that restored adamic (or Eve) perfection up in wt land, only 144 000 sealed once.

Jesus served the emblems to earthly hope "sheep". it behooves wt to do the same, to claim to be his followers.

sorry for split reply, got balled up in the premature yellow.
