saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it:

Is 25 the new cut-off point for adulthood? - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24173194

I was baptized in my early 20s so now realize was too young mentally to understand the full impact of that decision and the long term impact on my life.

The org should stop putting pressure on young ones to get baptized.

People get cold feet on their wedding day! Rightly so ! So something like a lifelong committment to have handcuffs and shackles on feet should never be under pressure.

On second thoughts how else can the Gar-Bage get free money for their real estate business, printing business and high flying maintainance!!

They know what they are doing, they are trapping young born ins to a lifetime of slavery and servitude to their cult, with no easy way out.

Studies such as this could have a profound effect on the way in which society treats young people. It is saying that our brains are not fully developed until we are 25- 30.

So should we allow younger ones to marry? Drive on the roads ? Send them to war? What about the call, by some, to lower the voting age to 16?

This is exactly what have other septuagerians say about youth culture and the fondness of society to favour youth.

NB .. to follow the o/p point.... I cannot see the WTS changing their attitude toward youth baptism. They need all the numbers they can get and have no regard for the ones who regret it later.

think our issue isn't with minors getting baptized, but rather how Jehovah's Witnesses treat baptism. Baptism is supposedly an outward display of accepting the God of the Bible, His Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Just like a wedding is nothing more than a ceremony that two people who decided to be exclusive with one another go through to publicly let everyone known "Hey, we're an item. We are no longer available for romantic relationships."

The problem is baptism in the Jehovah's Witness religion is an outward display or statement that means the individual is officially a part of that religious organization. It is not about accepting God or Jesus as your savior. I could have been baptized as a Presbyterian and then later in life become a Methodist. I wouldn't be shunned by my Presbyterian family and friends. I could even stop going to church all together and there would be no problem.

    FADEAWAY1962:

I remember back when I was in that the Witnesses were knocking the Catholic church for infant baptism.

Well, if the Witnesses are now allowing children to be baptized that is little better than what the Catholics do.
