Do you know of any judicial cases that is very trivial?

Yes. A child df for denying being in association with a worldly friend. No misconduct alleged at that time. Brought in 2 witnesses, one of whom was NOT baptized to testify that he not only was there but entered the friend's home.

A witch hunt that went far beyond the 3 on the committee.

My friends brother was disfellowshipped quickly, while his elder dad was out of town. For kissing a girl. I think they had an agenda.

I hate this cult from top to bottom. I have no sympathy for these idiots who stay in and have no retirement. MY FIL is one and I don't hate him I have no sympathy for him. I talked and talked to him and he was never going to die and he did not need a savings or retirement. So they make their choices. Get out anyone who is in just get out. Don't give a flip about family not talking to you. If that is the way they are they are not going to change and you need to save yourself. Fem.

I am always cautious when experiences are related unless they actually happened to the person relating it. You never know all the circumstances......

I was ,however, called to sit on this committee to hear the case of a bro. we were told was guilty of gambling. Fair enough, I took my place and we heard what had happened. It turned out that all he had done was to donate to a local charity, in a pub. collection tin and was handed a ticket with lucky numbers to scratch off. The guy then did so and tossed the ticket away. For that he was hauled before the committee.

In any other congregation I had been in , if such a complaint was made an elder would have a quiet word and that would be that.

Sitting there I did not feel able to contradict my fellow elders so I had to go along with it and the guy was duly reproved... A complete waste of time in a vindictive congregation..

A friend of mine got disfellowshipped for smoking two cigarettes at school. First time, he was regretful and told the elder. Second time, another JW told on him. He was 16. 2 cigarettes. Ridiculous.

In the old days, I was "super spiritual" and my sister got into a JC. She didn't really have any remorse or regrets about her actions and asked for my help. So I told her exactly what to say and when and how to cry. She did as I advised and was "forgiven". She then came back to me thankful for my coaching!

This troubled my conscience for several years on two levels: 1) I was part of this manipulation and 2) appreciating the fact that a JC that prayed for Jehovah's guidance was soo easily fooled.
