Recent experiences on here about cart witnessing when an ex JW engages them in discussion , it`s not long usually before the JW excuses themselves packs up and moves on .

If they really believed they have the "truth" they should be confident enough to win their argument/discussion.and stand their ground.

    Obviously they aren`t.

If we believe the Bible Jesus and his Apostles never shied away from talking to / engaging in discussions with the Jewish religious leaders of the day.?

Not so with Jehovah`s Witnesses they are instructed NOT to engage with ex JW`s , people who know what JW`s believe inside out.and can effectively refute their arguments.and point to their failures.

If their faith is that shallow that talking to an ex JW will weaken their own faith , then they really do not have a very strong foundation of their own faith do they.

JWs will always drop back to their concept of "not casting pearls before swine".

Once you ask a difficult question or challenge them on their past errors, the conversation quickly comes to an end. It's obvious to them that you do not have the "right heart condition" to receive The Troof.

Oh, mention a court case or two that they have lost and that is just apostate lies.

I have asked six different Elders to come and prove to me that what they now teach is the truth.

Not one has taken up the challenge.

They know it is not the truth. That is why it is pointless having Doctrinal/Theological discussions with them, they know their religion is no more true than Hinduism, Scientology, or Mormonism, and they do not care.

Why is that ? - the answer's obvious.

Because WT doctrines are a croc of sh1t.

They simply can't process anything that takes away from their dream religion. Whatever it is that's bothering you, Jehovah will take care of things in His due time. While this is patently, undeniably true, because it cannot be disproved, there is no excuse for their preference for ignorance.

If you want to remain "content" with your faith, why debate with a "malcontent"? Pretty obvious isn't it. I think you're over thinking it.

The book 'reasoning from the scriptures' presents beliefs other religions have and then shows why those beliefs are wrong. Do the same thing with jw beliefs (sooo easy!) and this is classed as apostasy.

Some may see that as a bit hypocritical.

    Just saying.

Reminds me of a time years ago when I went into a Blockbuster Video with a friend, and started explaining to him the difference between anamorphic widescreen and pan-and-scan, Blu-ray vs. DVD, 1080p, the future of 16x9 TVs, etc...

...on the way out, he laughed and told me that a young teenage BB employee had started to walk up behind me to ask if we "needed help with anything", heard me being (presumably) more knowledgeable about the subject than he, and had quietly backed away with a somewhat intimidated look on his face.

Bottom line... when people who are trained to think they have all the answers suddenly face others who are smarter and well-informed then they are, they rarely handle it well.
