  Was just thinking how the society has fervently promoted the idea and direct teaching that all who leave are "bitter, negative, twisted, and mentally diseased" etc... Yes, they say that those who leave are at fault. All who leave are wrong and destined to die.

  Yet, they are the ones who dwell on such negative thinking!

  Most who fade or leave do so for matters of concience, yet just want to get on with life. Most don't try and persuade witnesses to follow. No, rather respect is shown for their beleifs - even if we don't agree. After all, that is appropriate human behaviour - to respect others and not ridicule them.

  Yet the society has actively maligned and slandered those who leave.

  So, who are the bitter ones?

  Why doesn't the society allow open communication, feedback and discussion, or allow ones to leave free of ridicule? Why promote bitterness and hate?

  Hey Stuck!

  The WT is "framing the debate" about those who leave. In effect, WT says there are only two options: You are 'upright' if you stay with the Org. OR, you are "bitter, negative, et al . . . if you leave. They don't want their readers to think that there might be another possibility.

  They do the same with partaking at the memorial: You either accept the truth (as they teach it) and don't partake, OR, you are emotionally/religiously disturbed if you do. There is no possibility that someone might simply accept Jesus' instructions as being for all. They don't want anyone to even consider that possibility.

  I think that this bitterness and negativity is common in most-to-all religion. The negativity is to feed people's fear that there's nothing else in the world but depending on their organization. The hate and bitterness promotion comes from the fact that they all claim to be the one and only groups who has the truth, that it's right about everything. Therefore, nothing and nobody else outside is worth of any kind words. Also there's this grandiosity that many people who claim to be in the one and only truth feel, so there's no real need to be considerate, compassionate or nice. Finally, they are only nice and "compassionate", and show respect for other people when and only when it fits their agenda, that is, gaining converts or get something done to accommodate their believes.
