Ironically, JW's today freely refer to their beliefs as "religion". Whats up with that?

Back in the day, they called themselves a 'sect', and NOT a religion. My Mom was crystal clear with me on this point.
Of course, that all changed when they were going to be taxed. Suddenly, * POOF * they're a religion and * VOILA * no taxing them. Uh huh...

Listening to that speech reveals how incompetent of bible theologian Rutherford really was , he rambles on incoherently to demean other Christian based faiths to support and uphold his interpretive beliefs which were wrought with stupidity, lies and corruption.
Rutherford was a delusional idiot who developed an self imposing glorified image of himself that he had god's divine guidance in bible interpretations and understanding.
He sold himself as such there and about when he took over the Watchertower Publishing house and proclaimed he was a selectively chosen modern prophet.
Delusional might be the key description where many men start to believe they have special powers and abilities, its like if he said it or wrote then it must be true and valid to them selves..
The most dangerous and problematic men are the one who believe their own ideologies which they inherently developed on their own.
