Cheeses,
Indeed, you're intentions are good.
As for Eric burden...every guitarist in the whole wide world learns the first few bars of House of the Rising sun. Good ole Eric.

Can't stop that song from running through my mind now. Thanks a lot.
Hey now!
I am a youngin, but I do know my music. As soon as I saw the title of this thread I started to hum the song, and now like nifun it's trapped in my head! YEEEAAAAAH!
House of the Rising sun. Good ole Eric
Eric? House of the Rising Sun can be found on the first recording of one very young Robert Zimmerman better known as Bob Dylan. A very powerful, moving accoustic version with wailing voice with the original lyrics which predates the more pop/rock version that the Animals later recorded.
House of the Rising Sun has roots older than even Dylan Himself, Simon.

Of course I gotta spoil this. I listened to the song yesterday, and I'm 25 years old :)
Nos,
Good to see that good taste in music can still be found.
Simon,
Can't say that I can recall ever hearing Dylan's version - but now you have given me a mission.
