LOL@Odrade! Yes, they're hard to pierce....I mean they stick out like yer nose, but there's no nostrils to pierce....and that third-nipple-look is so "outre"...besides ya can wear a "jewel" in an "innie", huh!

If you have an inny and are a smoker, you can use it to hold your cigarette if you need both hands for something else, like beer and pizza.

I personally like having an innie myself. I can lie on the sofa and keep salt in there to dip my carrot sticks in, celery stalks, and apple slices and whatnot. Very handy.
On my woman, I like the outie. It IS like a third nipple and sexy as hell.
