"Kings and Priests" - Churned Out on Other Sites.

I've never examined another well known anti-Org site's beliefs before, but having just looked at it via a link in a current post, I immediately noted the WTBTS/G.B.'s favourite phrase - "kings and priests" - being parroted!

Reasoning purely on the Bible, the Greek word "basileus" can be translated as leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land, king. How many kings (according to scripture!!) have/will rule the earth at any given time? God first, then Satan, then Christ, then God - only one at a time!

If 144,000 Melchizedek wannabes get their wish, then Paul's unique comparison of Christ with Melchizedek (8 times) at Hebrews chapters 6 & 7 is totally worthless.

Psalm 45:16 tends to shed light on the subject - "Your sons........You will appoint them as princes in all the earth."

The inserted word 'kings' at Revelation 5:10 has no foundation, logic, or corroborating evidence to support its usage - as it is translated in the KJV and subsequently plagiarized by the NWT.

Because someone is described as "reigning", does not mean they are kings - e.g. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego all reigned at one time, but not as kings.

Just my take on the apparent agenda to perpetuate the old "kings & priests" ploy.

I think it's funny that we sometimes try to analyze meaning in words in the bible as though they are some detailed legal contract. The reality is the whole thing is a fairy story and full of huge gas.

e,g. Was the little piggies house that the wolf blew down completely made of straw or would it need some stronger support materials?

Anyways ... I think many kingdoms had kings (the very origin of "kingdom" = 'kings domain') even if those kings ultimately had another higher ruler over them.

I take all the "kings, princes and priests" description to simply mean "privileged ruling class who benefit from everyone else's hard work but feel they have the right to tell people what to do" LOL

We are discussing the term found in the book of revelation. If it is King or Prince, the book is symbolic. When it talks about virgins it doesn't necessarily mean real virgins.

How many times have we seen the expression 'he lives like a King'.

Also this interpretation comes from an organisation that believes spiritual Israel consists only of Kings and Priests.
