After the meeting this week and the song and parts about elders, something occurred to me. The elders don't teach as shepherds.
When Nathan confronted David. He didn't make an accusation stating that Jehovah informed him of what David did. When one is accused one gets defensive. Nathan presented a story so David could see a different point of view. That one one sees the point and not get defensive.
I can think of times in when the elders brought accusations against me, and of course I got defensive. If they would have taught like Nathan did, as a shepherd and lead the sheep, instead of accusing, I wouldn't have gotten defensive and would have appreciated their direction. But it is not in them to actually shepherd the sheep.
