I am climbing Mt. Terry fox tomorrow!
A group of us is a goin' up yonder at 7:30 a.m. to climb the mighty mountain..... in honor of Terry Fox, of course. (the guy who ran across Canada, almost. Until his cancer came back and he passed on.... where he stopped they named a mountain after him...)
I'll try to post some piccy's if we make it. There is snow up in the alpine right now, and it's raining down here. I hope to make it!

I went out to the highway and ran with Terry for a bit when he came through Nova Scotia. He showed us what a person with real determination could do! I am happy that you and others choose to honour him on this day.

So cool, Talesin! I was but a boy when he was running and the whole drama played out of T.V. The poor guy never did make it, but he was sure full of guts, that guy!

A close friend of mine just passed away last month from a brain tumor, only 35 she was! The fight she put up and the ground she made for the cause was increadible! I wish you the best in your effort!

My Mom's best friend died of Cancer at 40... breast cancer. She took her last breath in my mothers presence.
Months later, when visiting my mom, I found letters from Joan to her when they were 15 at camp. They were so young and so like 15 year old kids. They were best friends that long. I don't know how my mother was so strong........

Wow, your mom was lucky to have such a friend. You all must miss her terribly. It's sad to lose friends, especially to cancer. It can be so painful and slow ... But they are, each one of them, heroes.
